It's quite awhile seen I wrote about "Silat Malaysia'.
Well then! Let's start again!

SILAT IS THE BEST MARTIAL ARTS...EVER!

 For your information, silat is basically based on JOINT-LOCKING TECHNIQUES.
Or in other word we used to call this type of martial art as a SELF-DEFENSE fighting.

Yeayh~  personally I do really love silat because it is one of the coolest martial art I ever knew.
Directly speaking, silat of Silat Malaysia had 5 LEVELS in denoting a full-fledged warrior.

1st Level: BEGINNER LEVEL

- Known as "ANAK GELANGGANG"
- Wearing "WHITE BELT"
- Do whatever teacher asks

2nd Level: PRACTITIONER

- Known as "PESILAT MUDA"
- Wearing "BLUE BELT"
- Not yet enough to qualify as a full-fledged trainee

3rd Level: PRACTITIONER

- Known as "PESILAT"
- Wearing "GREEN BELT"
- Able to apply techniques in sparring matches

4th Level: YOUNG WARRIOR

- Known as "PENDEKAR MUDA"
- Wearing "RED BELT"
- Qualified to teach

5th Level: FULL-FLEDGED WARRIOR

- Known as "PENDEKAR"
- Wearing "BLACK BELT"
- Grading

Actually, I'd been taught that in becoming a super bloody awesome "FULL-FLEDGED WARRIOR" we have to add another level after 5th level.
It seems weird perhaps but my teacher taught me that there are another level of black belt itself and the proof is my teacher own it! HOYEAYH!

Bunga Silat also known as a key of the movement in Silat Melayu. It compiled all types of movement, shape and figure of the silat melayu itself.

There are 7 types of movement referring to the movement of mankind which are:
1) 7 Langkah
2) 7 Kuda-kuda
3) 7 Limbai tangan

For addition, we would like to introduce the steps of "Bunga Silat" movement.
There are 7 types of Langkah that used to be in the steps that we should follow to make the "Bunga Silat" perfect;

1) Langkah Serung
2) Langkah Tunjang
3) Langkah Terus
4) Langkah Undur
5) Langkah Ereng
6) Langkah Silang
7) Langkah Samping

Silat Malaysia Martial Arts is divided into 4 types:

1) Seni Gayung Fatani
2) Silat Lincah Malaysia
3) Silat  Cekak Malaysia
4) Silat Gayung Malaysia

The most popular type of Silat Malaysia Martial Arts is Seni Gayung Fatani.

Early of 90 century, many teachers of silat with a religious background from Pattani promoting Islam to society.
They also teach silat in order to develop the fitness of their da'ie. They used to introduce people about
Silat as a fitness education and Islam as the spiritual education.
This education will give people the balancing of physical and mental treatment.

Silat Malaysia Martial Arts usually held in "gelanggang silat" and normally the place should be in clean and clear from any poops or dirty things.
